WIP Wednesday - 1/23/13

I've had the idea of an arrow quilt block rattling around in my head for a bit. Yesterday I sat down and drew out a few different versions. AND I managed to stitch one up too.

I'm thinking of making a few arrows in different shades of pink for a Valentines mini quilt.

In other work-in-progress news, I've decided my next "big" quilt project will be to finally finish my Modern Meadow HST quilt. However, I'm still not totally sure which layout I should choose:

#1
mm hst 1

#2
mm hst 2

#3
mm hst 3

I looked at the dates on these photos and they were taken almost two years ago. Sheesh am I indecisive. Luckily, I still love these fabrics! I think I'm leaning toward layout 2, but what do you think?

  3. I like #s 1 and 3... the colors are great and I think the asymmetric really brings them out.

  5. I'd be with the majority, I was attracted by #3. I love the fabrics too!

  6. I know the feeling, I'm so indecisive too. I love all your layouts but I'm most drawn to #3, maybe it's because it's similar to something I'm working on now and I have that on my creative brain right now? The arrow is super fun too.

  7. I love #3, too, although I also like #1 a lot! Regardless of which one you choose in the end, it will be a beautiful quilt!

  8. Bleep, bleep. I am following along everyone else. I love them all but #3 is my favourite. Gorgeous fabrics too.

  9. Awesome arrow block! Your modern meadow quilt looks lovely. I like layouts 2 and 3 best. Maybe you could play with layout #2 to make the main X off centre - then it would have a similar feel to #3 maybe? Hope that makes sense!

  11. I love the versatility of HSTs and I don't think you can go wrong with any of the layouts. I made a quilt top like #3 for the Madrona Road challenge and I love the way it turned out.

  12. I like #2 best. It's also a less common HST arrangement. And your arrow block is adorable! Well done!

  13. The arrow block is so cute! This is completely unhelpful, but I like both layouts 2 & 3 :D. 2 really caught my eye, because I haven't seen that arrangement before.

  14. I really like 3 but 2 seems to be the most unique. Whatever you decide, it will be very nice, as they all are quite eye catching. Also, your arrow is really neat and quite different from all the hearts we see around this time of year. Fantastic job!
